We congratulate Thomas Ganslandt, who relocated his workplace and changed from the University Hospital Erlangen to the Medical Faculty Mannheim of the Ruprecht-Karls-University Heidelberg in March 2018. In his Erlangen time, he led the data warehousing and research IT team at the Erlangen University Hospital. With his team he closely cooperated with the Erlangen Chair of Medical Informatics in numerous international research projects. In 2017, Thomas Ganslandt received his habilitation at the Medical Faculty of the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg – he has left his marks both at the university as well as in the University Hospital Erlangen and the Erlangen team takes leave of him with mixed feelings. We wish Thomas a good start in Mannheim!
In Mannheim, Prof. Ganslandt has now been elected as the acting director of the Heinrich-Lanz-Center for Digital Health at Mannheim University Medicine and he heads its Department of Biomedical Informatics. As such, Thomas Ganslandt will continue his intense activities within the MIRACUM project and his first (ad)venture will be the establishment of the Mannheim Data Integration Centre.
