Medical (Research) Informatics Essentials
The MIRACUM Consortium (Medical Informatics in Research and Care in University Medicine) invites PhD students and young professionals to the first MIRACUM Summer School “Medical (Research) Informatics Essentials”. The Summer School is part of our concept to strengthen medical informatics and will take place annually. This year’s four and a half day course will be held in beautiful northern Alsace (France). The content of the course will focus on data mining in the different IT systems within the heterogeneous IT landscape of a hospital. In this context, interoperability, medical data dictionaries and data protection concepts, as well as the provision of routine data for research play a central role. Since the implementation of innovative IT solutions in the hospital, such as systems for clinical decision support, requires consideration of regulatory requirements, the Summer School will also address the basic features of the Medical Devices Act. The Summer Schools in the following years will build on these basics and gradually deepen the topics.
